Evonik Shanghai Xinzhuang Site

Evonik Degussa Shanghai Xinzhuang Site is an integrated site with administration, R&D center and production facilities. Currently, there are two legal entities located on Xinzhuang site: Evonik Degussa (China) Co., Ltd. Shanghai Branch and Evonik Degussa (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.

Evonik Degussa (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. has been operating in Xinzhuang site since Sep. 29th, 2000. The Polyurethane Additives plant started here at the end of 2002. In March 2009, the plant was successfully expanded for products that cater for the needs of the local customers.

Evonik R&D Center was inaugurated in April 2004, with a total investment of over €22 million, 25,000 square meters of space, housing state-of-the-art laboratories for research and development, application technology, and technical service. Here, we have 18 labs and approximate 100 R&D staff working for all business units of Evonik. The mission of R&D center is to help strengthen the interface between our business units and customers, universities, and research institutes in China and provide customers with tailor-made solutions and our high quality products.

On August 13th 2007, we inaugurated the second phase of the R&D Center, which is designed to be the foundation for Evonik Xinzhuang site's further development as the hub in China for sales & marketing, research & development for several Business Units and Evonik China Services.
